Ranked Ist in Uttar Pradesh & accredited by NAAC in 2004, Raghunath Girls’ (P.G), College, was established in year 1929 by “Kripa Devi Trust Fund Society”.
Raghunath Girls’ Post Graduate College is the premier all women college of Western U.P.,Meerut, known for its high standards in teaching and research and attracts eminent scholars to its faculty. The college had a modest beginning as a school , with just five girl students .

Shailly Tyagi B.Sc. I   Participated in Rovers Rangers Team, which stood first in Inter College competition (Feb. 2004)
Pawanjeet Bhandari – Joined the Army in 2004.
Toolika Tomar – Joined Indian Air Force in 2004.
Ms. Shilpa Agarwal won second prize for Botany Department in foeykiqjh py oSt;Urh okn&fookn izfr;ksfxrk in 2004.
Ms. Shivani Gupta, M.Sc., I and Parul Tyagi, M.Sc. II won Ist prize in paper reading competition organized by Botany Association.
Preeti Goel (M.Sc. 2004) appointed as temporary lecturer in Botany Department for UG classes for the session 2004-05.

2005-06

1.      Parul Tyagi, M.Sc. II (04-05) – Vth rank in University.
2.     Three students were selected in first five in U .P. State level essay contest, organized by National Academy of Sciences,                  Allahabad and one of them was awarded with first prize. These are –
         (a)          Gurpreet Kaur Saluja (B.Sc. II) – stood first.
         (b)          Sonali Poonia (B.Sc. III)
         (c)          Ishima Ghai (M.Sc. I, Botany)
3.      Two students got first prize in Prabha Devi Chal Vaijyanti Sangosthi at college level -
         (a)          Vidushi, B.Sc. II
         (b)          Monisha, B.Sc. I

2006-07

1.      All India MN Roy Memorial essay competition was organized by Indian Radical Humanistic Association, Jaipur and Rajat         Jahn, B.Sc. II got 3rd ran and awarded with Dr. Chhagan Mehta Memorial Prize worth Rs. 1000/- only.

2.      Team of botany Association stood first in interdepartmental skit competition, organized by Samudayik Vikas Sangh on         05.12.2006. Most of the participants were from B.Sc. III.

3.      Ist, IInd and IIIrd all ranks were secured by B.Sc. students, respectively Garima Rana, B.Sc. III, Teena Tomar, B.Sc. I and Alka         Yadav, B.Sc. II in essay writing competition on the topic ‘Role of Non-conventional energy sources in Development of India’         organized on 15.09.2006 by Debating Society of the college.

4.      Ist (Bhawana Gupta, B.Sc. II) and IIind (Surabhi, B.Sc. II) prize was secured by B.Sc. students in Kite Making competition         ‘organized by Student Welfare Association’.

5.      Nazia and Neha Singh, B.Sc. II stood Ist & Iiind respectively in debate competition, organized by NSS Camp.

6.      Harshita Sharma, B.Sc. II was Ist prize in Slogan Competition.

7.      Nazia, B.Sc. II got IIIrd prize in debate competition organized under the banner of Prabha Devi Chal Vaijayanti Sangosthi at         College level.

8.      Anshu Mittal, B.Sc. III secured VIIIth rank in University Merit with 79.39% marks.

10.    Rafat Jahan B.Sc. III was third prize (Rs. 1000/-) in M.N. Roy Smiriti essay writing competition held at Jaipur (Chhagan         Mehta Memorial Award-Humanistic concern).

2007-08

Besides different scholarship to the meritorious students (as indicated in pt. 29 part B), many other achievements of students and awards obtained by them may be summarized as follows -

1.      Selection of NCC and NSS volunteers for the Republic Day Parade as well as best cadet and best volunteer awards at          Republic Day camp along with gold medal and cash prize of Rs. 25000/- from Director of NCC and Governor of U.P.          respectively-

    1. Nazia Fatima of B.Sc. III, the first NSS volunteer of the college to be selected for Republic Day Parade 2008, has been awarded with Volunteer Award of all India Republic Day Camp.

    2. Tanya Ahlawat of B.Sc. III was selected as a NCC Volunteer for the Republic Day Parade-2008. She, at all India Republic Day Champ was awarded Gold Medal for best Cadet by by Director General, NCC. She was also short listed for special interview by Director General and was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 25000/- from the governor of U.P.

2.     Selection of the students for Youth Exchange Programme – Naiza, Fatima and Tanya Ahlawat, B.Sc., both have been                  selected for youth exchange programme at all India Level. For the same Nazia is going to China through NSS in September         2008 and country to which Tanya will go, is still awaited to be announced..

3.      All India Firing Competition – Tanya Ahlawat stood 2nd in All India firing competition 2008 and 3rd in All India briefing of UP corner & flag area competition.

4.      Urvashi Chauhan, B.Sc. III, Shruti Goel, B.Sc. II, Swati Tyagi, B.Sc. I and Pratibha Sharma, B.Sc. II won first, second, third and          consolation prizes respectively in Slogan Writing Competition on ‘Female Foeticide’ organized by Botany Association on 20th          Nov., 2007.

5.      U.P. State Shooting Competition – In September 2008, Tanya Ahlawat stood 3rd in 0.22 rifle shooting organized by U.P. State          shooting competition held at Agra. She was awarded Bronze Medal Medal and cash prize of Rs. 5000/- by honorable Lt. Col.          Rajyawardhan Rathore, who himself is a Silver medallist in Shooting in Olympics.

6.      Indira Gandhi Award – Nazia Fatima, B.Sc. III was nominated for ‘Indira Gandhi Award’ at Youth Festival, Chennai.

7.      Neha Singh and Harshita Sharma, B.Sc. III won consolidation prize in debate competition organized by DAV (P.G.) College,          Bulandshahr in October, 2007.

8.      Shruti Goel, Sonia Yadav & Surabhi Panwar, B.Sc. III members of Botany Association were the members of the team which          stood first in Quiz Competition organized by Zoology Association on 19th Nov., 2007.

9.      Somiya Sarfaraz, B.Sc. I, Sunbul Raza, B.Sc. III, and Jyoti Singh, B.Sc. II stood Ist, Iind and IIIrd respectively in Eco-friendly                   Card making competition, organized by Botany Association on 29th Nov. 2007.

10.    Soniya Yadav, B.Sc. III, Swati Tyagi, B.Sc. I and Pratibha Sharma, B.Sc. II won Ist, Iind and IIIrd prize in Extempore Competition           on 14th December 2007 organized by Botany Association.

11.    Vidhi Aggarwal, B.Sc. I won special prize in on the topic organized by  Sociology Association on 5th Feb. 2008.

12.    Aditi Sharma, B.Sc. III and Shruti Goel, B.Sc. II won Ist and Iind prize respectively in Essay Writing Competition on 'Biofarming          : Demand today & Tomorrow", organized by Botany Association in Feb., 2008.

13.    Shweta Kaushik, B.Sc. III and Reena, B.Sc. III and Reena, B.Sc. III stood Ist and IInd in G.K.  Competition organized by Botany          Association on 3rd March, 2008.

14.    Achievements in sports activities in tournaments at University, Interuniversity, State and National level -
         (i)  Priyanka Yadav, B.Sc. III class serial number 153, participated in Taikwando at State and National level and got gold and          silver medals respectively.

  • Megha Yadav, B.Sc. II, class serial number 154, participated in Taikwando and got gold medal at state level and bronze at National level.
  • Asha Rani, B.Sc., 11, Boxing – gold at State and Bronze at National Level.
  • Inam, B.Sc. II, 124, Athletics, Bronze at University Level.
  • Tanya, B.Sc. II, 188 Shooting – Silver at State Level.
  • Rashmi, B.Sc. III, 200 Badminton participation at University and bronze at State level.
